The Manatee County Tax Collector is usually comprised of 81 full-time and between 15-20 part-time employees. It is a Constitutional Office, which is a separate government entity from State or County government.

Minimum Qualifications /Background Reference Check for all full-time employees includes:
  • Personal Credit History Check *
  • Computer Keyboard Test
    • Performance based computerized testing that measures data-entry, e-mail composition, and typing/keyboarding skills; must type at least 35 wpm
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Valid Florida Driver License **
  • Ability to obtain a Florida Notary Certification
  • Drug Test
  • Criminal History Check
  • Past Employers Reference Check

Minimum Qualifications /Background Reference Check for all part-time employees
  • Personal Credit History Check *
  • Computer Keyboard Test - must type at least 35 wpm (mail processing positions only)
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; or full-time student in high school or college
  • Driving Record Check - for employees who will be operating office vehicles.
  • Drug Test
  • Criminal History Check
