Part Time Employment: Download Application

Dear Prospective Part-Time Employee,

Thank you for your interest in being a part-time employee with the Tax Collector’s office.

Part-time employees are a vital and growing part of the Tax Collector’s office day to day operations. We use the “target staffing” approach much like banks do for staffing needs.  Their efforts supplement our full time staff to help minimize customer wait times on the phone and in the offices. Part-time staff are assigned to our DeSoto office except for the receptionists at the branch locations.

Part-time positions are generally filled during “tax” season (October-December); but are not limited to this time of the year, with a starting rate of pay beginning at $8 per hour.  Part-time employees hired to work more than six (6) consecutive months will receive Florida Retirement System (FRS) benefits, which are paid by the Tax Collector’s office.  At times we do hire “Temporary Part-time” employees for periods of less than six (6) months.

If you are interested, please fill out an application (available online) and turn it in at our DeSoto Branch location.

Sincerely,

Ken Burton, Jr.

Tax Collector
