Ronda French was selected by her peers as the Manatee County Tax Collector's Most Valuable Employee for 2011. She is the supervisor in the Current Collections Specialized Driver License Department and has been an employee with the Tax Collector's office since 1990.
In making the announcement at the annual Columbus Day in-service work day, Tax Collector Ken Burton Jr. cited her many accomplishments over the past year.
From the nomination: "Ronda did an amazing job assisting with the remodeling of the DeSoto and North River offices and she did this while coordinating the closing of the Dealer Department and the creation of a new Specialized Driver License Department. Ronda always takes ownership of any task she's assigned and she gives it 150% effort. She exhibits our core values of Teamwork and Excellence and Accountability in everything she does, and even though she is juggling multiple tasks under stressful conditions, she always does so with a smile. Ronda worked closely with the contractor, helping with the design of the counter work stations for both the DeSoto and the new Specialized Driver License (SDL) department along with the relocation of the Quality Assurance department. Ronda also worked very closely with QA in developing the procedures and Customer Information Publications (CIPS) for SDL. This was no easy task as Ronda was juggling the construction along with researching and learning all of the new transactions we would assume once the State Office closed."
The award carries with it a certificate, name on the MVE trophy, her name listed on the Most Valuable Employe page on www.taxcollector.com, a Java n Jive gift certificate, a special lanyard pin, and a bonus unileave day.
