Requirements for All Endorsements

• When you visit an office, you will be asked to provide documents that will establish your identity. Click here to view the identity requirements.
• A new photo will be taken at the time of issuance.

Motorcycle Endorsement

Our office will add a Motorcycle endorsement to a Florida driver license, provided the applicants:

• Have their current (or expired less than 2 years) Florida driver license or commercial driver license (without Hazmat endorsement) in their possession.
  • If their Florida driver license or commercial license is lost, the person's digital image must be on file.
• Have their original certificate of completion from an approved Motorcycle Safety Course, Police Management Training Course, or Motorcycle Ride Course conducted by any branch of the military service.
  • The certificate of completion can be from Florida or any other state (except Alabama).
• Have an out-of-state driver license (except Alabama) with a Motorcycle endorsement currently listed on the license, and they are transferring their license to Florida.

School Bus Endorsement

The Specialized Driver License department at our DeSoto office will add a School Bus endorsement to a Florida driver license, provided the applicants:

• Have their current (or expired less than 2 years) Florida commercial driver license (without Hazmat endorsement) in their possession.
  • If their commercial driver license is lost, the person's digital image must be on file.
• Have the Passenger (P) endorsement already on their commercial driver license. If the (P) endorsement is not on the license, you must visit the Specialized Driver License department at the DeSoto office.
• Have completed and passed the Skills and Knowledge tests.

All Other Endorsements

All offices provide limited driver license services. For information about adding endorsements other than Motorcycle and School Bus, you must visit the Specialized Driver License Department at the DeSoto office.
