The employees of the Manatee County Tax Collector's Office elected Ali Amraoui as the Aimee Brewer Most Valuable Employee (MVE) 2019. The MVE is an employee whose work affects the entire office and includes the nominee's core values that relate to their position. In addition to Ali, nominees this year were Jen Ackles, Sharmaine Bridges, Alyssa Hamilton, Jennie Johnson, Antonia Medina and Sandra Rodriguez.
Ali was nominated by three colleagues. The first said, "Ali is always ready to find a solution to a problem, and is gracious and accommodating. Although I do not have much knowledge about IT, he is very kind, patient and explains things in a way that is easy to understand."
In the second nomination it was said, "There are many duties that Ali performs with excellence that some may not be aware of; being in the same department I get to see some of these things. He wrote numerous scripts that work behind the scenes to automate many settings that previously required IT intervention. He makes sure that 50-plus servers and 185-plus computers are working properly, getting necessary updates, backing up properly and more. Plus, he always has an energetic and positive attitude every day which provides a very good work atmosphere for everyone.
"It is easy to forget just how much IT does for an organization," said the third nomination. "From devices running seamlessly to complete over hauls of equipment, we are the 'go to' when issues arise. For years now Ali has been the heart and soul of the department. Since he joined IT, he has strived to streamline and improve workflow. Initiative is the opportunity to take charge independently, a priceless skill when it comes to improving workflow. Ali has stood out on countless occasions when it comes to taking initiative and being proactive."
"Ali really stepped up for the office when our systems administrator was out for an extended time," said Tax Collector Ken Burton, Jr. "He took on networking and firewall solutions while maintaining his own position. When our servers went down while Ali was on vacation, he remotely re-established communications with servers and successfully had everything back up and running prior to 9 a.m. on Monday morning. Just another example of Ali going above and beyond for this organization. As an IT man, I appreciate his dedication to all things technical coupled with his innovative spirit. He exemplifies our core values of innovation, teamwork, excellence and accountability, future and customer focus, integrity and respect along with community and social responsibility."
The MVE award carries with it a certificate of merit, name engraved on the MVE trophy, name listed on the Most Valuable Employee page on the office web, a Java n Jive gift certificate, a bonus unileave day, and names a themed casual day in his honor.
The mission of the Manatee County Tax Collector's Office is to perform our duties with integrity and respect, focusing on innovation and serving with excellence.
