(Bradenton FL) Kim Alfonso was selected as the Manatee County Tax Collector's Employee of the fourth quarter 2020. One of the most tenured associates in the Operations Department, Kim has been on staff since 2002 when she started as part time. Kim became full time in 2018, and serves as the department's high speed processor. Kim is a previous Employee of the Quarter recipient for the fourth quarter 2004.
Kim's dedication and commitment help fuel the success of our Operations Department" said Tax Collector Ken Burton, Jr. "She plays an integral role in maintaining the confidence of our customers who complete transactions by mail or online, ensuring their work is processed accurately and returned quickly without having to visit an office. She is a huge asset to our organization. Her embodiment of our core values of Customer Focus and Excellence and Accountability shine in everything she does."
"Kim may work behind the scenes, but she is fully dedicated to customer service," said Marie Inotai, Director of Operations. "She does not fail to deliver, and is consistently here to make sure it happens, often coming in early and maintaining an amazing record of having no unscheduled absences this entire year. When COVID-19 hit, we experienced an 80% increase in transactions completed by mail. Despite the workload challenge, Kim processed all incoming work in less than two business days, getting it back into the hands of the public in lightning speed. She processed over 280,000 transactions since March. It's truly remarkable, and we recognize the impact of her efforts."
"We are so thankful to work with someone like Kim," said Operations Manager Kristy Chapman. "Her selfless display of teamwork was highlighted by keeping the interest of the whole office in mind. Kim knew that our call center was receiving record numbers of inquiries and made sure that questions on the status of the work she was processing did not contribute to that volume. We can't thank her enough."
Kim represents Office core values of customer focus, innovation, future focus, integrity and respect, teamwork, and excellence and accountability. Her name is engraved on the Employee of the Quarter Trophy; she receives a merit certificate, a reserved parking space, a uni-leave day, names a themed casual day, and receives a free pizza from Demetrio's Pizza House, Cortez Road.
