Concealed Weapon License
At the Manatee County Tax Collector’s Office you may apply for or renew a concealed weapon license. This transaction is only processed at our Driver License office, located at 904 301 Boulevard West, Bradenton. Our office accepts applications, takes your picture, and digitally scans your fingerprints. If eligible, a renewal license may be printed during your visit.
You cannot apply for a duplicate license at our office. If your license has been lost, stolen, destroyed, or needs updating, contact the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) at 1-850-245-5691 to obtain a replacement license. All processing and determinations regarding an applicant’s eligibility for licensure will be made by FDACS, which is a separate agency from the tax collector’s office.

Concealed weapon license services are offered by appointment only, and you must schedule your appointment through our online appointment system (https://wb-manatee.qmatic.cloud/qmaticwebbooking/#/).

Fees
The majority of Original licenses are $119.00, renewals are $57.00, including Tax Collector convenicence fees. Please review a full listing of fees on our concealed weapon license fees page (http://www.taxcollector.com/cwl-fees.cfm).
We accept cash, check, debit cards, and credit cards. A processing fee applies if you pay by debit card or credit card. For debit cards, the fee is $2.50. For credit cards, the fee is 2.5% with a minimum of $2.50. Our office does not retain any portion of this fee.
Original application requirements
You must present the following documents to apply for an original license:
Valid driver license (or state-issued ID card) that includes your picture, full name, and date of birth.
A training document that confirms you're proficient with a firearm. Please visit FDACS for a listing of acceptable training documents (https://www.fdacs.gov/Consumer-Resources/Concealed-Weapon-License/Applying-for-a-Concealed-Weapon-License/Acceptable-Firearms-Training-Documentation).
You must also bring the following if any of these circumstances apply to you:
Born outside the U.S. – Official documentation confirming your citizenship status.
Permanent legal resident alien – Official documentation confirming your citizenship status.
Active military – Copy of your Common Access Card or other form of official military identification. We will also accept a copy of your current orders as proof of active-duty status.
Veteran – Copy of your DD-214 long form.
Have ever been arrested – Certified copies of court documentation reflecting final disposition of the charges.
Currently a Florida law enforcement officer, correctional officer, or correctional probation officer and wish to apply for concealed weapon license as such – Copy of an official document confirming your employment.
Retired Florida law enforcement officer, correctional officer, or correctional probation officer and wish to apply for concealed weapon license as such – Copy of an official document stating your retirement date and the agency from which you retired.
Note: If you currently hold a concealed weapon license from another state, you will schedule your appointment as an Original.
Renewal requirements
You must present the following documents to apply for a renewal license:
Valid driver license (or state-issued ID card) that includes your picture, full name, and date of birth.
Concealed weapon license number or renewal notice.
If your name has changed, a copy of your marriage license, divorce decree, or other official court document that confirms your name change.
FDACS will mail out your renewal notice approximately 95 days prior to the expiration date of your license. If your license has been expired for 180 days or less, you can still renew it but must pay a $15.00 late fee. If your license has been expired for more than 180 days, you cannot renew it – you must instead apply for an Original license.
