Driving Skills Road Test Disqualification
It was determined by the driver license examiner that you did not accurately complete your driving skills road test, and you have been disqualified.
When you are ready to attempt the driving skills road test again, please know and complete the following:
Visit the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles' handbooks and manuals page (https://www.flhsmv.gov/resources/handbooks-manuals/), where you can view or print the Official Florida Driver License Handbook and obtain driving and education course information.
For a full list of private providers, visit the state's driver license exams page (https://www.flhsmv.gov/driver-licenses-id-cards/driver-license-exams/).
Reasons for disqualification
Accumulation of points
Failed maneuvers:
Quick stop
Backing
Three-point turn / K-Turn / Y-Turn / Turnabout
Simulated parking on a hill
Straight-in parking
Crash
Dangerous action:
Driver license examiner has to intervene or has to take over vehicle during test
Vehicle stalls during testing and affects traffic
Loses control of vehicle, etc.
Traffic law violation according to chapter 316 of the Florida statutes (i.e., failing to stop at a stop sign, exceeding the speed limit, failing to comply with the Move Over law, any act subject to a citation, etc.)
Refusal or lack of cooperation:
Refuses to try any maneuver, or states “I can’t do that”
Offers bribe or “gratuity,” which is a second-degree felony (per Florida Statute 838.015) and which is punishable as provided in Florida Statutes 775.082, 775.083, and 775.084
Argues heatedly about scoring instead of just discussing scoring
Accuses driver license examiner of discrimination or any other abuses
Is this your fourth disqualification? Ensure you are prepared when attempting the driving skills road test a fifth time. If you fail or disqualify during the road test five times within a one-year period, your driving privilege will be suspended for one year. If this happens and you want to challenge the suspension, you must contact the Bureau of Administrative Reviews (BAR) office to request a hearing and gain approval to attempt a sixth driving skills road test. (Note: If a sixth road test is granted and you disqualify during it, you must serve the one-year suspension period before attempting the road test again.)
