Toll Booth Violations, Parking Tickets, & Red Light Camera Citations
If you are unable to process a vehicle registration transaction due to a toll booth violation, parking ticket, red light camera citation, or other citation, you will be required to provide a receipt from the toll authority/government agency that placed the registration stop on your vehicle before your registration can be renewed.

WHAT THE RECEIPT MUST INCLUDE

We need written proof (receipt) that the registration stop has been released/payment made.  The receipt must show:
  1. The name of the Agency that issued the receipt, and
  2. A $0.00 balance or that all outstanding balances have been paid.
Note: Printed screenshots from your cell phone or mobile device are acceptable.

OPTION 1 – HAVE YOUR RECEIPT FAXED TO OUR OFFICE

As a courtesy, we provide fax machines to the public so that you may have authorities fax you a receipt.  Fax numbers:

DeSoto
941.741.3585
Lakewood Ranch
941.751.8280
North River
941.721.2004
Driver License Office
941.708.5772

Be sure to ask how long it will take to receive the fax – customers often wait a long time for authorities to fax receipts – 30 minutes is not uncommon.

You must wait near the fax machine to ensure that your personal information is not obtained by someone else.  Any faxes remaining at the end of the day are discarded.

OPTION 2 – PAY ONLINE AND PRINT YOUR RECEIPT

Print your receipt after paying online.  Visit the corresponding toll authority/government agency’s website to pay online. Once you have paid, print your receipt/clearance document to bring in to our office. As a courtesy, there are self-service lobby computers (and printers) you can use to pay online and print your receipt/clearance document.

HOW TO FIND OUT WHICH AGENCY PUT A SUSPENSION/REGISTRATION STOP ON A VEHICLE

Visit https://services.flhsmv.gov/MVCheckWeb/ to learn which toll authority/government agency put a registration stop on your vehicle.  You will need your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) or Title Number, located on your registration.  This website will provide you with the name of the toll authority/government agency and their phone number.  If you make an appointment to visit our office, we may be able to provide you with this information.

NOT GUILTY?  REGISTRATION STOP ISSUED IN ERROR?  WRONG LICENSE PLATE IDENTIFIED?

If for any reason the registration stop was issued in error, you must contact the issuing agency to request information regarding how to contest the violation, citation, or ticket.  Our office cannot assist with this process or renew your registration until the registration stop has been lifted by the agency that put it on the vehicle.

PARKING TICKET ISSUE?

Florida Statutes 316.1967(6), 316.1001(4) and 320.03(8) provide for the possible suspension of issuance or renewal of a vehicle registration if the applicant shows an outstanding parking ticket(s).

Visit bradentonfl.rmcpay.com/ to pay parking tickets issued by the City of Bradenton and https://www.manateeclerk.com/online-services/pay-citation for Manatee County. For all other parking tickets, contact the issuing city or county.

RED LIGHT CAMERA ISSUE?

If you have received a red light camera citation from Manatee County and need information on payment, clearance, or to dispute the citation, we recommend that you contact Manatee County Code Enforcement by phone at 941.748.2071. If the citation was received outside of Manatee County, we recommend that you contact the corresponding city and/or state where it was received for assistance.
