If you are not a US or Canadian citizen*, you are required to present proof of legal presence (USCIS) documents when applying for a Florida driver license or ID card. All documents presented must be original and current.
*US and Canadian citizens are required to submit proof of their citizenship, which acts as legal presence in the US.
US Customs and Border Protection
If you arrived in the US on a Visa, you may be required to provide your I-94 (DHS Arrival/Departure Record) for issuance of your Florida driver license or ID card. The I-94 defines your Visa status once inside the US and often determines the length of stay permitted.
To access and print your most recent I-94, visit https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94 and select the "GET MOST RECENT I-94" button.
