Maxine Johnson was selected as the Manatee County Tax Collector's Employee of the Quarter for the first quarter 2019. An employee since 2014, Maxine serves as a subject matter expert in the Driver License Office (DLO) of the Customer Solutions and Associate Development (CSAD) department and was recently named the next CSAD Assistant Manager in Training. She represented the office at the 2017 Sterling Conference, which is sponsored by the Florida Sterling Council in the Governor's Office."Maxine is dedicated to innovation," said Tax Collector Ken Burton, Jr. "She works to not only improve herself, but also with associate training to enhance morale and implement process improvement to expedite our customers' transactions. We value her willingness to take on more duties and then perform them with excellence."
"Recently, Maxine was assigned additional responsibilities as the DLO Team Leader to help keep the DLO running seamlessly and smoothly during a transition," said CSAD Director Tony Conboy. "She takes ownership and excels in all tasks and continually asks what more she can do. She sets a great example for the rest of the staff."
"On her own initiative, Maxine researched and updated two Customer Information Publications to better train associates and inform the public," said Assistant CSAD Director Ronda French. "She has created countless quick reference charts, edited training for DLO back-ups and responds to Zendesk tickets, processes customers and assists in a smooth work flow."
"Maxine is a team player and we appreciate all she does," said Bobbie Sumbay, DLO manager. "When our team decided to donate funds to purchase toys and stockings for Guardian Angels of SW FL, Maxine volunteered to create Christmas cards for foster parents to thank them for all they do for the children. It's those added initiatives that make her such a valuable team member."
Maxine represents all of the tax collector's core values: customer focus, future focus, excellence and accountability, integrity and respect, innovation, teamwork, and community and social responsibility. Her name is engraved on the Employee of the Quarter Trophy; she receives a merit certificate, a reserved parking space, a uni-leave day, names a themed casual day, and receives a free pizza from Demetrio's Pizza House, Cortez Road.
