Iwona Smith is the Manatee County Tax Collector Employee of the Quarter (Published 01-13-2023)

Bradenton - Iwona Smith was named the Manatee County Tax Collector's Employee of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2023. Iwona joined the Tax Collector’s team in 2016 as a counter associate and was promoted to Subject Matter Expert shortly thereafter. Iwona changed her career path to the Financial Services department in the summer of 2022 and absorbed the responsibilities of two departing team members.
In addition, Iwona took the initiative to innovate better ways to serve by reviewing and improving existing processes within the department, which included revising numerous policies. She also assisted with the development of a new software with workflows that are now being utilized by the entire organization.
"Iwona is a great example of what hard work can accomplish," said Tax Collector Ken Burton Jr. "She strives for excellence in all she does. Her drive and commitment to the success of our office have allowed her to learn the inner workings of her position quickly, allowing for a seamless transition into her new role. We are thrilled to have her on our team.”
