Sharmaine Bridges is the Manatee County Tax Collector's Employee of the 1st Quarter 2018. This is the second time she has been selected for outstanding performance, the first time in 2008. Sharmaine has been an employee in the Customer Solutions and Associate Development (CSAD) department since coming on staff in 2005, after earning her Bachelor's Degree at the University of Central Florida. She is part of the Quality Assurance Team that handles associate training and development."Sharmaine assists whenever and wherever needed without hesitation,” said Tax Collector Ken Burton Jr. in making the announcement. "She incorporates our core values teamwork, integrity and respect, excellence and accountability, future focus, customer focus and innovation into her work ethic every day. She also is involved in community and social responsibility activities outside of work and she represents the Office recruiting new employees at job fairs, too."
"Recently Sharmaine has been cross-training with the CSAD executive assistant to handle required testing, scheduling interviews, as well as facilitating interviews with employment applicants," said Tony Conboy, CSAD director. "This is especially important to have these responsibilities covered when needed, while still meeting her responsibilities for all tasks related to PowerDMS and Driver License procedure changes, which is the excellent caliber employee she is to us."
"Sharmaine assisted with the addition of Zendesk ticketing for the three branch offices, as well as training the staff at those offices," said Ronda French, CSAD assistant director. "She also has cross-trained on Zendesk to ensure that duty has a backup."
"Sharmaine recently assisted with the new Driver License/ID printer installation at the Driver License Office (DLO), which included documenting any issues to ensure problems were resolved before the new printers are installed at the other four offices. Sharmaine maintains her knowledge of more complicated DLO processes, researches state procedures and works with the DLO manager to ensure compliance. Sharmaine strives to ensure associates are clear on process changes through her QA WebEx trainings and procedure updates," said Ronda French.
As Employee of the Quarter, her name is engraved on the trophy; she receives a merit certificate, a reserved parking space, a unileave day, gets to name a themed casual day, and receives a free pizza from Demetrio's Pizza House, Cortez Road.
