Kelly Gillis is the Manatee County Tax Collector's Employee of the Quarter

Bradenton - The Manatee County Tax Collector’s Office is proud to announce that Kelly Gillis has been selected as Employee of the Quarter for the 2nd quarter of 2025. Since joining the Tax Collector’s team in 2021, Kelly has made an incredible impact within the organization.

After her first year in the Customer Service and Associate Development (CSAD) department, Kelly was selected for a role as a Field Deputy and transitioned into the Field Services & Collections (FS&C) department. In just two years, she has achieved remarkable accomplishments. In the past quarter, Kelly played a key role in championing improvements to department-related content. She also led the successful implementation of several internal program enhancements that significantly boosted her department’s operational efficiency.

“Since coming onboard, Kelly has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication, a strong work ethic, and a passion for improving the processes within our department” said FS&C Director Michele Schulz. “Her contributions have been invaluable, and we are fortunate to have her on our team. Her hard work and commitment make her truly deserving of this recognition.”

In addition to her work on customer service improvements, Kelly’s seamless transition from Field Deputy to managing all aspects of tourist tax has been nothing short of impressive. She has embraced her new responsibilities with enthusiasm, contributing to the development of new software systems and ensuring they meet the needs of the office and customers.

Kelly has also taken the lead on improving and automating hiring processes within FS&C.

“Her accomplishments and initiatives really highlight her innovative thinking and ability to drive positive change within her department,” added Ken Burton, Jr. “Kelly is a great example of our vision statement – ‘innovating better ways to serve’”.
