Bradenton - The Manatee County Tax Collector's Office is announcing the forthcoming closure and consolidation of two branch offices and the opening of a new, strategically located office designed to better serve the community. Effective Monday, September 9, 2024, the North River Branch in Ellenton will cease operations, followed by the closure of the Lakewood Ranch Branch on Monday, September 16, 2024.

The new East Manatee Branch, located at 10705 Technology Terrace in Bradenton, will open its doors to the public on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. This modern facility will replace the services of the North River and Lakewood Ranch Branches, offering a convenient and accessible location for residents in Eastern Manatee County. Along with this transition, the office’s DeSoto Branch is undergoing a rebranding to become the West Manatee Branch and will continue to offer its current services.

In addition to a larger floorplan and increased service stations to accommodate the growth of the county, the East Manatee Branch is also bringing new and enhanced services to the area, including road testing, extensive self-service stations, a registration renewal kiosk inside the lobby, and areas dedicated to virtual services, enabling Tax Collector team members from other locations to assist customers and process transactions remotely.

“We pride ourselves on staying ahead of the game when it comes to technology, efficiency, and customer service, ultimately delivering what our customers truly value,” said Ken Burton Jr., Tax Collector. “Our East Manatee Branch was essential to continue connecting our neighbors in the East Manatee area to fast, friendly, and efficient government services. Our team has worked tirelessly on this project, keeping our customers at the forefront of each decision. We’re excited to open and expand our services to continue supporting the community.”

Dealer Services Network, a private agency that currently operates on a contract with the Tax Collector to provide motor vehicles services, has also shared plans to open a new location in the North River area toward the end of 2024, although a date has not been established.
