Retiring a Mobile Home

Motor Vehicle, Mobile Homes and Boats

Processing Options

The retirement of a mobile home cancels the Florida title because the mobile home will now be attached to the deed. To retire a mobile home, the land must be owned by the owner of the mobile home and not rental property where lot rent is collected. This must be registered in the State’s system before proceeding, which the owner would be provided with a permanent black decal backing for their mobile home.

The following is needed to process the retirement of a mobile home:

  • HSMV 82109 – Application for Retirement of a Mobile Home Certificate of Title
  • A photocopy of the following documents that have been recorded with the Clerk of the Court’s Office:
    • The Florida certificate of Title
    • Legal description of the real property
    • The sworn statement by the owner of the real property, as shown on the real property deed or lease, that he/she is the owner of the mobile home and that the home is permanently affixed to the real property in accordance with state law.

If you need to retire a mobile home, please complete the Application for Retirement of Mobile Home Title.
