Manatee County Tax Collector Holds Unclaimed Refunds

BRADENTON - The Manatee County Tax Collector is currently holding over $407,000 of unclaimed funds from property tax and motor vehicle transaction refunds that have not yet been claimed by individuals and entities. These unclaimed funds may result from overpayments, duplicate payments, account adjustments, or refund checks that were returned or never cashed.

Customers are encouraged to review the unclaimed funds list and submit a claim if they believe they are entitled to these funds being held by the Tax Collector's office. The online tool makes it quick and easy to search the current list by name.

Individuals and entities who find their name on the list can initiate a claim by completing the online Unclaimed Funds Request form. All claims must be received by December 31. After this date, unclaimed funds may be transferred to the state unclaimed property program in accordance with applicable laws.
