Unclaimed Funds

Manatee County Tax Collector is currently holding unclaimed funds from property tax and motor vehicle transaction refunds issued to individuals and entities who have not yet claimed them. If you believe you may be entitled to these funds, please check the unclaimed funds list prior to initiating a claim.


Required Information and Additional Instructions
To initiate a claim, please complete the Unclaimed Funds Request form. You will be asked to provide the following information and documentation:


  • Full legal name
  • Mailing address
  • Prior mailing address associated with the refund, if different
  • Phone number and email address
  • One or more of the following:
    • Parcel number or property address (for property related refunds)
    • Vehicle registration/ license plate number or VIN (for motor vehicle refunds)
    • Reason for the refund, if known (overpayment, duplicate payment)


Required Supporting Documents:

  • Government-issued photo ID
  • Proof of ownership (utility bill, tax statement, vehicle registration)


Additional documents may be requested to verify ownership.


All claims must be received by 12/31/25. After this date, unclaimed funds may be transferred to the state unclaimed property program in accordance with applicable laws. To file a claim or for more information, please complete the Unclaimed Funds Request form.


Under F.S. 668.6076, email addresses are public records. If you do not want your email address released in response to a public records request, do not send electronic mail to this entity. Instead, contact this office by phone or in writing. The accuracy of the information provided on this website is not guaranteed for legal purposes.
